The Pima County Attorney’s Office provides local doctors, clinics and hospitals with free gun locks and informational brochures and safety information on the proper ways to secure and handle firearms. Doctors promote firearm safety and distribute free gun locks to patients who have firearms in their homes. This is a wonderful public service program with an important message of educating parents with young children on the importance of firearm safety.
"Providing these free gun locks to parents is a common-sense, practical way to promote firearm safety in our homes. Through education and proper use of free gun locks, we can help prevent unnecessary violence and accidental shootings."
Framed posters in English and Spanish about the availability of free gun locks are provided by the Pima County Attorney's Office for pediatricians to post in their lobbies. More than 144 doctors offices and clinics are participating.
